Section A

Practical Spirituality Classes (20 semester units)

Notes

Each affiliated center has the discretion to determine the appropriate classes to offer under this section. Courses may include studies in spiritual principles, the science of mid, the path of the mystic, the infinite way, the meaning of grace, using the inner power, the care of the soul and many others which focus on applying spiritual principles to our life’s journey.


Section B

Knowledge Classes (18 semester units)

Section B and C courses of study may be interchanged at the discretion of the affiliated center. In many cases, the specific course of study may fall into either category.

If the affiliated center feels it appropriate to offer more Section C -type courses rather than Section B, then those classes will meet the knowledge course requirements of Section B.

Notes

Each affiliated center has the discretion to provide courses of study deemed appropriate under this section. Knowledge classes generally include courses that provide information about specific New Thought concepts, religion, philosophical ideas or biographies.

Courses could include world religions, new thought philosophers, advanced bible study, new thought Bible interpretation, philosophical ideas of the great masters, the hidden years of Jesus, the Buddha, other great teachers and writings by contemporary authors.


Section C

Self-Actualization Classes (18 semester units)

Section B and C courses of study may be interchanged at the discretion of the affiliated center. In many cases, the specific course of study may fall into either category.

If the affiliated center feels it appropriate to offer more Section C -type courses rather than Section B, then those classes will meet the knowledge course requirements of Section B.

Notes

This section includes courses which enhance the individual’s inner development. Subjects include higher consciousness, prosperity, meditation, Zen, self-awareness, relationship, leadership, and other related topics.


Section D

Project or Professional Paper (4 semester units)

Notes

The project may take the form of a New Thought course of study or the creation of a book or manual. All projects must have prior approval by Emerson Institute.

The professional paper must contain 50 to 100 pages whose theme focuses on its application to New Thought. Guidelines will be sent to the student.

Unit fee for 4 semester units must be included with the final paper or project when submitted to Emerson for review and evaluation.


Section E

Written and Oral Examinations

Notes

Study guide available upon request at the appropriate time. There is an examination fee of $100.
